Tan marica! si esa tecnología es vieja
This is from the oldies, from when I used the Stencil as my main medium and my fingers were left hurting from cutting by hand for several days. What I like most about this work is finding in it one of the principles that I want to expose with my work, which is to find what is valuable in what is authentic, what is real.
At that time I was not aware of the impact that a message conveyed with art can have. Here I painted in a very genuine way, a young soldier, located in rural Colombian territory, who carried his rifle, which, laminated in gold, filled him with courage. But I didn't want to leave it like that, and I accompanied it with the irreverent phrase that questions where its value comes from: the weapon it carries? of the expensive and shiny appearance of gold?
