¿Qué miras?
This was what I felt with that look we had face to face. The one she gave me when I took her photo. Challenging, tender, noble, and at the same time somewhat uncomfortable.
I tried to paint it in the same way. There are multiple meanings and sensations in his gaze, just like multiple layers of paint, which overlap, form this portrait.
His gesture is noble, and validates the primary intention that we human beings have, and that children express more easily, of wanting to look beyond what we find on the surface of things and people. We want to see deeper and understand, despite the discomfort.
