Rio Arriba

During the past year I was working on a large urban art project called Constelaciones, which was developed in the Brisa del Jardin II and Altos de la Cima neighborhoods, in the city of Medellín. There I met the cool people that make up the neighborhood, who generally have had to forcibly migrate and come to this sector. Ordinary people, eager to get ahead and who smile at life.

Once the artistic project was completed, several tourist routes were created that have UVA La Armonía as their starting point. There those interested can see the largest macromural in the city, and more importantly, learn the stories behind each of the works.

Now, to the point: why am I here again? A couple of months ago I found out that Mrs. Telma, originally from Chocó, decided to open her restaurant serving typical “Chocoan” food, worth the redundancy. There, people who take the tour with the guides (whether local or foreign) are taken to this wonderful place where they can enjoy authentic food: fried fish, coconut rice, patacones, chocoano cake, borojó juice and other options where Telma He shares his culture with the world with deliciousness.

Without thinking twice, we decided to go to his business and give him a mural that exalted the origins of his land. Show the link they have with the river, in this case the Atrato, and thus not only the visitors, but she, Telma, marvel and remember her childhood in that special place, and then be inspired to prepare delicious dishes.

I invite you to put together a different patch, go see the project, the murals, and then support the network of local businesses like the one in Telma and recover energy with a powerful fish broth, sweet coconut rice, and a fish from another level.
