AS DEEP AS THE UNIVERSE,

AS UNIQUE AS THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Constellations is a project as deep as the universe but as specific as the history of the corner, the neighborhood, the mountain.

They are points that connect the same story, the same feeling, with different faces, lives and pasts.

Constellations talks about the game without pause, about the obstacles of a family that lost a child, about children who have to dream to get out of their reality, about the fish that once passed through a river that later turned into cement, about a greedy* where you jump on a DT* to reach the sky, which is your own home.

When I arrived at Brisas del Jardín and Altos de la Cima, I arrived with an open gaze, with attentive ears, I began to listen to the stories, the tales, the experiences, I began to observe the topography and the way of walking.

I understood that for the people who live there, everyday life is a game to survive, that stories are what shape them and that the future is the prize that one day they want to achieve.

As an artist, I approach these projects wanting to give my all, but I end up taking more than what I give, I get to intervene in a place, but I leave with the people and the stories in the most special place in my heart.

This project is part of a series called “Playing to Live” that is linked to the mother concept of AGÜD, which is “We are still children”, where everything revolves around that primary feeling of playing, having fun, dreaming and imagining and where the Obstacles and everyday life ultimately end up being just another chapter in this game called life.

*Golosa: Traditional children's game also known as hopscotch.

*DT: Yamaha DT, motorcycle known for being used by young people in the 80s/90s.

This project was managed by the APP agency, where the artist Fredy Alzate designed the largest macromural in the city; and I was part of a group of 6 invited artists, there we designed several murals around the neighborhoods chosen for this dream.
